Do my customers get charged to receive text messages?
Not from ReminderBox. However, wireless providers typically charge 10 cents to consumers who do not have text messaging included in their service plan.

What is a Short Code?
It's a 5 digit number that identifies what company and program is sending Business to Consumer (B2C) SMS traffic. It appears as the 'FROM' number on the mobile phone.

How are Short Codes used?
Short Code programs have to be individually approved by each wireless carrier to prevent spammers and marketers from sending unsolicited messages into their networks.

Do I need a Short Code

What is an Opt-In?
'Opt-in' means to give a business permission to send you a text message to your mobile phone.  This permission can be verbal only if there are no premium fees associated with the message, and If the message is not part of a subscription.

What is a Double Opt-In?
A double Opt-in is a confirmation of a premium fee or subscription by requiring the consumer to respond to a short code with a message like 'JOIN'.

Does ReminderBox require a Double Opt-In?
No. The appointment reminders we send on your behalf have no premium fees and are not a part of a subscription service. However, you are still required to get verbal permission from your clients for each appointment reminder you schedule.
